City of Richmond has converted 320 hectares, Burnaby 706 hectares and Surrey 1,771 hectares. • Metro Vancouver projects a shortage of industrial land in the 2020’s. • In 2012, Metro Vancouver completed a market readiness assessment on the remaining undeveloped industrial land in the region. • The study concluded that prior to 2017, 1,800 hectares or 70% of vacant industrial land will be available for development.
