In addition, 46% and 49% of respondents in the UK and Germany respectively agreed that such variety in news sources allowed easier access to a greater number of opinions and views. Readers are able to engage more actively in reported events by contributing to comment boards or discussion forums. On some modern news sites, readers can even participate in journalism itself by uploading videos of news 31 scene footage, and distribute the news to broader audiences through social networks. The uptake is noticeable.
